The Anker Schiffahrts Gesellschaft is a renowned operator of a modern multi-purpose seaport terminal at the Emden outer harbour.

The central strengths of our company are an experienced, reliable staff of employees and an excellently equipped truck fleet. On this basis we cover all the demands that industrial customers and carriers have with respect to a modern, efficient terminal.

Car handling is still a major focus of our activities. As a co-partner of the Autoport Emden GmbH via this participation more than 20,000 asphalt carports for the import and export of new vehicles are provided at the Emden outer harbour. In 2010 760.000 vehicles were handled via the facilities there. Our main customer is the Volkswagen corporation.

The handling of forestry products is another important mainstay of the Anker Schiffahrts Gesellschaft. The main handling product is cellulose that serves as a basic material in paper production. Our main customer is the Finnish UPM Group, one of the world’s leading forestry companies and manufacturer of magazine and special paper and of finishing materials and wood products.

At the forestry products terminal at Emden Anker Schiffahrts Gesellschaft models important processes of this complex supply chain. Our services include ship brokerage, customs clearance, stevedoring on board and on land, terminal operations, warehousing, damage prevention, quality assurance, and trimodal terminal hauling. In three state-of-the-art special warehouses with a total storage area of 29,000 square metres we regularly store cellulose imports temporarily, mainly from overseas, and then deliver them to the recipients just-in-time.

We attach great importance to inland waterway transport, also for ecological reasons.
