Annual Reforestation Mexico City

Leschaco CSR

On August 17, we carried out a reforestation day in Mexico City, planting more than 3,000 species of trees and plants. With this initiative, we took a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint and conserving our planet.

The objective of restoring one of the most important ecosystems in Mexico City, a reforestation day was held in La Loma.  Volunteers from Leschaco Mexicana joined together to plant several native species and restore this natural space to its splendor.

La Loma, an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the city, was the scene of an emotional reforestation day. With each tree planted, we sow hope and commitment to the care of our environment.

What did we achieve?

  • Plant diversity: We enriched the biodiversity of the area with species such as dahlia coccinea, senna multiglandulosa, buddleja cordata and salvia mexicana, among others.
  • Varied strata: We planted herbaceous, shrub and tree species, creating a completer and more resistant ecosystem.
  • Environmental commitment: More than 70 employees along with their families, friends and one of our suppliers INTERTEAM participated in this activity, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability.

Attending the talk on tree planting was an invaluable opportunity. The speaker guided us through a detailed process, from selecting the right species to aftercare. In addition to the technical aspects, he emphasized the importance of planting trees to combat climate change, protect biodiversity and improve quality of life. The presentation included practical illustrations that facilitated the understanding of the concepts. It was a talk with practical knowledge and increased awareness of our role in environmental conservation.

The reforestation day was a unique opportunity to connect with nature and contribute to environmental conservation. We planted a wide variety of species, from trees to herbaceous plants, creating a more diverse and resilient ecosystem. Collaboration among volunteers was key to the success of this initiative.

The talk clearly addressed the importance of nature reserves as the lungs of the city. We learned about endemic species, fragile ecosystems and the threats they face. We were also provided with guidelines for enjoying these spaces responsibly, such as not littering, respecting the flora and fauna, and following established trails.

With each tree planted, we saw hope amoung the participants and commitment to the care of our environment.

Thanks to all the participants! Together we can make a difference!
