During September 2023, Leschaco Thailand organized the event "DiscoverU : Unlocking the World of Learning" for third-year students studying Logistics Technology and Transportation Management at Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-Ok, Chakrabongse Bhuvanarth Campus. More than 60 students and lecturers in Logistics Technology and Transportation Management attended the event.
The objective of this action was to provide students with knowledge and deeper understanding of the freight forwarding business beyond classroom learning, and practically apply the knowledge acquired through their learning and in their future career decisions.
The event was opened by Christine Russel-Wittebrood, Managing Director of Leschaco (Thailand) Ltd. and by Khun Nicole Grosse, Managing Director of Leschaco Services Ltd. who provided an overview of logistics, explaining its relevance and significance. ‘’This event is a great platform to share our culture and the passion for our industry and it feels very motivating & engaging to connect with the students’’ said Christine Russel-Wittebrood. ‘‘It enables students to visualize the different fields within the logistics industry, and thereby gives them more clarity on the path they could choose for the future’’.
Following the introductions, the event proceeded with its main content and Leschaco experts from six departments shared their knowledge with the students: the Sales & Marketing department explained the products and services of Leschaco, the Freight Operation department provided insights into freight import and export operations both by sea and air as well as the relevant documentation and necessary skills; the Customs Clearance department explained customs procedures, related positions, and workflow; the Warehouse Operation department explained warehouse management and the internal processes for both inbound and outbound operations; the Documentation Service Center department provided information about Leschaco Service's various products and services.
Last but not least, the Human Resource department presented an overview of the company, employee benefits, Leschaco culture, various activities, and job application techniques.
The event received positive feedback from both students and lecturers in Logistics Technology and Transportation Management, as it not only increased their knowledge of logistics and Freight Forwarding but also provided them with a better understanding of Leschaco and its operations.
