"We will not leave anyone behind." This is the unwavering commitment that drives Leschaco Thailand as we strive to support our community sustainably. In the wake of Typhoon Nangi, the northern provinces of Thailand, including Chiang Rai, have suffered devastating floods, impacting hundreds of households. Even after the waters recede, residents struggle to return to normal life due to thick mud covering the areas, making assistance challenging and time-consuming.
In light of this disaster, Leschaco Thailand recognized the urgent need for assistance and called on our employees to contribute essential items for those affected by the floods. Within just one week of our announcement, an inspiring 73 employees from various branches stepped up to help.
The response was remarkable. We received 2,118 items of non-perishable food, including instant noodles, canned fish, snacks, and drinking water. Additionally, we gathered 665 cleaning supplies, such as detergent, dish soap, floor cleaner, scrub brushes, gloves, and trash bags. We also collected 378 essential items, including soap, shampoo, sanitary pads, toilet paper, flashlights, and candles. In total, we amassed an incredible 3,161 donated items!
Fifteen dedicated volunteers assisted in packing these donations to prepare them for delivery to the Thai Red Cross Society.
On October 4th, Khun Christine Russel-Wittebrood, Managing Director of Leschaco Thailand and Khun Nicole Grosse, Managing Director of Leschaco Service donated 30,000 THB, necessities items and cleaning equipment to the Thai Red Cross Society to further assist flood victims. The donation was graciously received by Lt. Gen. Amnat Barlee, M.D., Director of the Relief and Community Health Bureau (RCHB), Thai Red Cross Society and team received the donation at Thai Red Cross Disaster Operations Center. Following this, all collected items will be gathered and distributed to the affected communities by the Thai Red Cross Society.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to many generous donors for their incredible support! Thank you to our executives for recognizing the importance of helping those in need and to the HR team for facilitating this initiative. We also want to express our appreciation to our suppliers, Sangja Transport and Natnisa Transport, whose generosity made this mission possible. By providing a four-wheel truck to transport supplies, they played a key role in ensuring our efforts reach those who need it most. Together, we can make a significant difference.
