For the fifth time in succession, Leschaco Mexicana organized its yearly Hazmat Symposium which attracted over 250 people to the Hotel Marquis Reforma in the heart of Mexico City on June 7th.
As every year, the focus of the event lied on current issues of great importance such as the management of chemicals across the US- border, the changes to the NOM-012-SCT-2-2008 (weights and dimensions) and the single window facility for foreign trade in Mexico (VUCEM), among others. The event was attended by high class speakers including Adrian Aguayo, General Manager of CMA-CGM and Refugio López Muñoz, General Manager of the National Chamber of Cargo Trucking (Canacar). The single window facility, which was introduced in Mexico at the end of June 2012, was presented by Dr. César Hernández, Director of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economy.
Mr. Oliver Oestreich, member of the Board of Leschaco Group, presented an overview of the chemical industry’s recent developments from the perspective of a logistics operator. He stressed the importance of current geopolitical movements and significant mega trends, such as globalization, resource efficiency and health and its impact on the transportation business.
Leschaco Mexicana has converted the Hazmat Symposium into a commitment to the chemical industry and logistic organizations, and therefore, in 2013, there will be even more topics of great interest and importance and highly recognized speakers to maintain this opportunity of mutual exchange of know-how.
