“Logistics & Transport” Symposium in Mexico: Focusing on China

For the eight times now, Leschaco Mexicana invited to the Symposium “Logistics & Transport”, which took place on May 14th at the Hotel Marquis Reforma in Mexico City and nearly 300 people came together.

Jörg Conrad, the owner of the Leschaco Group, took also part in the event in Mexico and gave the opening speech. “Over the years the Leschaco Symposium has established itself as a major event and net-working opportunity for our industries in Mexico”, he said in his message.

For the first time, the technical seminar was not only tailored to the chemical industry, which was also reflected in the new name “Logistics & Transport”.

The themes were as usual mixed and ranged from local issues, such as transport and customs regulations in Mexico, abandoned cargo and its consequences to policies to reduce CO2 emissions within the freight transport.

One highlight of the event was the panel discussion with representatives from the Port Community of the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, meanwhile the second largest container port in Mexico.

The last year’s evaluation showed a high interest in China as a host, the symposium’s performances included themes such as a detailed analysis of the bilateral market between Mexico and China. Furthermore Falk Ruehling, Managing Director of Leschaco China, held a specialist lecture on the main challenges for the Chinese logistics industry.

As in previous years, the end of the symposium was initiated by a raffle with country specific Chinese prizes. The evening of the 8th Symposium concluded with the by now traditional cocktail reception, of which the highlight was a Chinese dragon dance.
