At Leschaco, we are dedicated to Our Friends in Our Communities, actively contributing to SDG 4 - Quality Education through strategic investments in educational initiatives and partnerships.

An important and close to our hearts event took place on December 7th 2022. The Loving Heart Multi-Service Centre organized the Back to School Outing program, promoting close relationship between education and community engagement.

This event got the participation of 74 students and 39 dedicated volunteers. The volunteers assumed the role of mentors for the students throughout the day and they engaged in activities, shared their educational journeys, and fostered connections with the young learners. An integral part of their involvement was supporting the students in acquiring essential school supplies.

While on a visit to City Sprout, an urban farm in Singapore, students learned about concepts like trash composting and innovative techniques for cultivating vegetables, including hydroponics. Notably, the children even had the opportunity to create their own Kokedama, adding an interactive and practical activity to their learning.

The students and volunteers also went to a nearby shopping center where the volunteers took on a dual role as mentors and guides, assisting the children in the selection and purchase of school supplies for the upcoming academic year. With allocated budgets of $80 and $120 respectively for primary and secondary students, this action allowed students to actively engage in preparing for their education journey.
