Aligning with UN SDG 4: Quality Education
Leschaco Chile recently reinforced its commitment to social responsibility by hosting its annual charity event at the "Mi Pequeño Poema" kindergarten, a vital institution caring for over 60 children.
This year's initiative focused on providing educational tools essential for foundational learning, directly contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education—specifically Target 4.2 on quality pre-primary education.
The event, which was successfully organized with the dedicated efforts of our colleagues, including Sophia Holtz, resulted in a significant donation of sensory tables, along with food and additional resources for the children.
The Power of Play: Why Sensory Tables Matter
The donation of sensory tables transforms the kindergarten environment by introducing a powerful educational tool. This equipment is crucial for early childhood development and offers multiple proven benefits:
Cognitive Development: Sensory play encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and the understanding of basic concepts (e.g., volume, texture, cause and effect).
Fine Motor Skills: Activities like scooping, pouring, and manipulating small objects in the tables strengthen hand muscles and enhance hand-eye coordination, which are fundamental prerequisites for writing.
Language Acquisition: As children describe textures and actions, their vocabulary and communication skills are significantly expanded.
Social-Emotional Growth: The tables create a collaborative space where children learn to share, communicate, and work together, fostering social skills.
Calm and Focus: Engaging in sensory activities is a proven way to help children regulate their emotions and improve their concentration span.
A Tradition of Care and Collaboration
This annual event is more than a donation; it’s an opportunity for Leschaco employees to engage directly with the community and spend quality time with the children.
"It is incredibly rewarding to see the immediate positive impact of our collective effort," said Sophia Holtz
Sophia helped spearhead the organization of this year’s initiative. “By providing these sensory tables, we are not just giving a toy, but investing in the quality of education and the future development of every child at Mi Pequeño Poema.
Leschaco remains dedicated to making a sustainable impact in the communities where we operate, ensuring our corporate values translate into tangible support for meaningful causes.
