Leschaco is committed to diversity and inclusion, with a special focus on its partnership with Special Olympics which is an extraordinary organization that empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports, fostering recognition, self-confidence, and active participation in society.

During last year the first months of 2023, Leschaco employees from Mexico, Germany, Chile, Malaysia and Thailand participated in different volunteering activities to support Special Olympics Athletes to get prepared for the event of their life – The World Games which took place in Berlin.

As a proud supporter of Special Olympics, Leschaco actively participated in the opening ceremony of the Berlin 2023 World Games. The event welcomed delegations from participating countries with warmth and heartfelt friendship, embodying the motto "Unbeatable Together."

Here are some highlights about our athletes:

The Bremen delegation competed in bocce and handball, earning three gold medals, a fifth place in bocce, and two third places in handball. 

The Mexican delegation achieved remarkable success, winning a total of 33 medals, including 14 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze medals.

Among the winners there were our 'Adopted athletes' Pablo and Lulu from Mexico. Pablo secured a gold medal in unified open water swimming and a fifth place in the 800m freestyle swim, while Lulu achieved fourth place in the 200m and 400m events.

Chile delegation's exceptional performance in tennis, athletics, and equestrian events resulted in 6 Gold, 4 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals.

Thailand showcased their talent with 35 athletes competing in 6 sports, winning an impressive 10 Gold, 11 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals.  Meanwhile, Malaysia's 22 athletes excelled in 6 sports, earning 4 Gold, 5 Silver, and 9 Bronze medals.

The Berlin 2023 World Games provided a magnificent platform to showcase the talent, resilience, and determination of Special Olympics athletes from around the world. Leschaco reaffirms its belief in the transformative power of sports, which can break down barriers and unite people from diverse backgrounds.
