Leschaco Mexicana was honored today to host Gaby, the mother of Ariadna and president of Fundación Ariadna, A.C., an organization dedicated to providing crucial support to children diagnosed with cancer. The visit served as a heartwarming occasion to present Fundación Ariadna with a collection of significant donations, made possible through the collective efforts of the Leschaco UNITE community and its extended network.

Fundación Ariadna works tirelessly to improve the lives of young cancer patients and their families, offering a range of assistance from emotional support to essential resources. Leschaco Mexicana has actively partnered with the foundation, and today’s event highlighted the tangible impact of this collaboration.

Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of the UNITE community within Leschaco Mexicana, a number of valuable contributions were gathered and presented to Gaby. 

These included:

• Collected Bottle Caps: The accumulated bottle caps, diligently deposited in collection containers within the Leschaco cafeteria, will be recycled to generate funds for the foundation. It takes an impressive 115 kilograms of bottle caps to purchase just one box of Pediasure, a vital nutritional supplement for children undergoing treatment.

• School Supplies and Backpacks: Generous donations of essential school supplies and backpacks were contributed by Leschaco Mexicana’s clients, suppliers, and through the company’s innovative “cell phone for donation” program. This initiative encouraged the donation of old cell phones, with the proceeds going towards purchasing educational materials.

Supporting Confidence Through Braids

The Heartfelt Contribution of Hair

A particularly moving aspect of Fundación Ariadna's visit was the presentation of twelve carefully collected braids. This contribution stems from a dedicated hair donation drive organized by the UNITE community within Leschaco Mexicana. Recognizing the emotional impact of hair loss during cancer treatment, these donated braids will be used in the creation of wigs for young patients.

The process of creating a single wig requires approximately fifteen braids, highlighting the significant collective effort involved in providing this invaluable form of support. A wig can profoundly impact a child's self-esteem and sense of identity during a challenging time, offering a sense of normalcy and boosting their confidence. The twelve braids donated represent a tangible act of solidarity and care from the Leschaco community towards the children supported by Fundación Ariadna.

Looking Ahead: The "Trenzaton" – Continuing the Chain of Giving

Inspired by the success of their initial hair donation drive for Fundación Ariadna and recognizing the profound impact of providing wigs to children undergoing cancer treatment, Leschaco Mexicana is excited to announce an ongoing initiative: the "Trenzaton." This upcoming large-scale hair donation drive will encourage widespread participation from employees, clients, suppliers, and the community, serving as a platform to raise awareness and provide a convenient way for individuals to contribute braids.
