Leschaco Mexicana Runs for Inclusion: Making History at the First "Hope & Possibility" Race in Mexico

Leschaco CSR

A Weekend of Hope and Possibility

Last weekend, Leschaco Mexicana made its mark at a groundbreaking sporting event in our country: the first ever edition of the Achilles Hope & Possibility race in Mexico.

More than just a competition, it was a celebration of the human spirit.

Our runners from our Leschaco family laced up their sneakers to participate in the 6km and 12km distances, proving that sport is a powerful tool for breaking down barriers.

Why is this race special?

This race is globally renowned as one of the most inclusive events in the world, specifically designed to integrate athletes with and without disabilities on the same course.

Seeing our colleagues running side-by-side championing diversity perfectly reflects our corporate values of empathy and teamwork.

A Bit of History: The Origins of Achilles International

To understand the magnitude of this event, it is worth looking back. Achilles International was founded in 1983 by Dick Traum, the first amputee to run a marathon. His mission was simple but powerful: to transform the lives of people with disabilities through athletics.

The "Hope & Possibility" race takes its name from the memoir of Trisha Meili. It was founded on the belief that running together helps normalize disability and celebrates the achievements of all athletes, regardless of their physical conditions.

Special Thanks

A huge round of applause goes to Marco Ramos for his outstanding organization and leadership.

Thank you, Marco, for rallying the team and encouraging the participation of our runners from Leschaco Mexicana. Your efforts made it possible for us to be part of this historic day.

Leschaco Pride

Congratulations to everyone who crossed the finish line! This participation represents not only a physical achievement but a strong commitment to social inclusion.

Let’s keep running together toward a more inclusive future.
