The Gift That Keeps on Giving: How Blood Donation Benefits Everyone—Including You

Leschaco CSR

Have you ever stopped to think how much of an impact one single act can make? One bag of blood—collected in less than an hour—has the power to save up to three lives. But did you know that it can also improve the health of the person who donates it?

Blood donation is not just a generous gesture for those in need; it's a two-way gift—with lasting benefits for both the recipient and the donor. Medical studies, including those supported by the Thai Red Cross Society, the American Red Cross, and the World Health Organization (WHO), have shown that regular blood donation contributes to overall well-being in many ways.

Right after you donate
Within 24 to 72 hours, your body begins producing new red blood cells to replace what was donated. This stimulates your bone marrow and helps improve circulation. In some individuals—especially men or those with high iron levels—donating blood also helps reduce excess iron, potentially lowering the risk of heart disease.

When you donate 4 times a year
Healthy adults can safely donate blood every 3 months. Regular donations help your body become more efficient at regenerating healthy blood, improving immune function and cardiovascular health. Each visit also includes basic health checks—like blood pressure, pulse, and hemoglobin levels—giving you consistent insight into your well-being.

Over 10 years of regular donations
Long-term donors may experience even more benefits: reduced risk of iron overload, better liver health, and a natural shift toward healthier lifestyle choices—such as staying well-rested, eating nutritiously, and avoiding alcohol before donations. Plus, many regular donors report feeling more positive and purposeful, knowing they’re making a lasting difference in their community.

At Leschaco, we place great importance on the health and well-being of our people. This commitment is reflected in our “Our Family” pillar, which fosters a culture of care, support, and strong connections among colleagues. Initiatives like this also align with our dedication to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—especially Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth—both emphasizing the importance of healthy, resilient workplaces and communities.

On July 17, fifteen employees from Leschaco Thailand and Leschaco Service joined the Thai Red Cross Society in a meaningful blood donation activity. This was more than just a routine event—it was a genuine act of kindness and solidarity aimed at helping patients in need and supporting a cause greater than ourselves.

To our 15 wonderful colleagues: thank you. Your generosity and commitment truly reflect the values we stand for.

Together, let’s continue to share life—one drop at a time.
