Leschaco Indonesia's Heartfelt Fundraising Efforts to Support Fire Victims in Kemayoran

Leschaco CSR

A fire is one of the most devastating events that can strike a community, leaving behind not only destruction but also deep emotional scars. It is an unpredictable disaster that no one ever anticipates, yet when it occurs, it often results in the tragic loss of both life and property. The aftermath of such a calamity can be catastrophic, with countless individuals losing everything they have worked for—homes, possessions, and livelihoods. In some cases, the destruction is so severe that entire families are left homeless, with their lives turned upside down.

In these difficult moments, the role of compassionate support from organizations and the community becomes even more vital, offering hope and aid to those struggling to recover from the devastation.

On Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, at 12:25 PM Indonesia time, a tragic fire broke out in Kemayoran, central Jakarta. This devastating fire destroyed over 200 homes, leaving approximately 1,800 people affected.

As soon as the news was received, employees from Leschaco Indonesia acted swiftly, initiating a fundraising campaign and collecting donations to support the victims. Our colleagues came together to donate both money and clothing, showing tremendous solidarity and compassion.

The response to this initiative was overwhelmingly positive, with employees from all levels coming forward to contribute. Leschaco Indonesia's management fully supported this charitable effort, which ties in with the company's ongoing "Jumat Berkah" program. Every Friday, employees voluntarily donate funds, which are collected and made fully transparent to all staff members. In this instance, the employees showed exceptional humanitarian support, raising a total of Rp 5,800,000.

The volunteers also visited the fire-ravaged site, which was almost entirely destroyed and uninhabitable. Despite the destruction, the volunteers remained hopeful that their efforts would alleviate some of the burdens faced by the fire survivors. This initiative stands as a testament to the strength of unity and the power of compassion in the face of adversity.

The funds raised were used to purchase essential food items, such as rice, eggs, sugar, oil, milk, and more. Additionally, 99 adult clothing items and 20 children's clothing items were donated and distributed to those in need. The donations were personally delivered by a team of five volunteers from Leschaco Indonesia— Hikma Rizky ; Sea Import SupervisorSri Wati ; Human Resource AdministrationGhalib Dzamra; Government Relations, Contracts & Corporate Affairs, Lilis Nurjanah ; ISO Admin Support Staff, and Deny Valentino Chaidar—who met with community representatives in the affected area.
