Planting Holiday Spirit: Leschaco Mexicana

Leschaco CSR

A collaborative effort to beautify our community, care for our urban environment, and welcome the festive season.

A Transformation for the Season The holiday season has officially arrived at Leschaco Mexicana!

Today, our colleagues traded their keyboards for gardening gloves to participate in a meaningful CSR activity that is quickly becoming a cherished tradition: the reforestation of the public median (camellón) right outside our offices.

Just weeks ago, this space was vibrant with the orange hues of Marigolds (Cempasúchil). Today, we gathered to turn the page and welcome December by planting Nochebuenas (Poinsettias), filling our surroundings with the iconic red symbols of the holidays.

More Than Just Decoration: Our Impact on the Planet

You might ask, how does planting flowers in a median help the environment? In a bustling city like ours, every square meter of green space matters. By maintaining this area with seasonal plants, we are contributing to:

Urban "Green Pockets": Vegetation helps absorb carbon dioxide and filters dust and pollutants from the heavy traffic nearby.

Temperature Control: Plants help reduce the "urban heat island" effect by cooling the surface compared to bare concrete or asphalt.

Soil Conservation: Keeping the soil active with roots prevents erosion and maintains the health of the land right at our doorstep.

Strategic Alliance: Learning from the Experts

This initiative was made possible through a close collaboration with the Alcaldía Miguel Hidalgo. We were honored to have the support of their environmental experts, who turned this activity into a learning opportunity.

They guided us through the proper removal of the withered Marigolds (to be composted) and the technical planting of the Poinsettias, ensuring they thrive during the winter.

Leadership and Teamwork We want to extend a special acknowledgment to the Procurement Team, led by Shantal Torres.

It was inspiring to see the entire department step up, integrating fully into the activity.

Their enthusiasm proved once again that at Leschaco, we lead by example.

A Round of Applause for the Organizers Events like these require detailed planning behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.

We express our sincere gratitude to Nancy Cervantes, Iván Velazquez, and Alberto Jimenez for their outstanding organization.

Thanks to their coordination with the local government and internal teams, we were able to execute this initiative safely and successfully.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our entrance shine!
