Sensibilization Talks with Special Olympics - Chile

Leschaco CSR

On March 17th we held the first inclusion talk at Leschaco Chile where Alejandra Hernandez and Martin shared with us more about what inclusion is and the things we should take into account when talking about this important topic.

They shared with us the challenges they experience as people every day and how they constantly struggle to be treated as people without labels because we are all people who should be treated with respect. We have to take into account that we are people who feel and that we should have the same opportunities for growth no matter our condition.

The impact in Chile is that more than 5,000 people with intellectual disabilities belong to Special Olympics, an institution that has helped them develop in sports.

  • Special Olympics Chile has more than 900 coaches throughout the country.
  • It has alliances with more than 70 Institutions and Universities.
  • More than 4,000 students and health professionals are trained by Special Olympics.
  • It has more than 500 employees throughout the country.
  • More than 800 family members belong to this institution and have alliances with more than 125 educational centers.
