Lexzau, Scharbau welcomed delegation from Thailand

Leschaco

The agreement of the ASEAN states influenced the development of the Asian and worldwide trade in a positive way. Thereby Thailand’s role in the Asian and global trade chain was consolidated. To meet the requirements involved one has to invest more in the region. With the expansion of trade there will also be generated an additional demand for services like logistics, financing, qualified education and other services.

The delegation consisted of representatives of the Thai ministry of foreign trade as well as members of an ASEAN-task force. The task force puts his focus on the long-term objective to develop the inland waterways inside of the ASEAN states and to optimize the logistic net of shipping lines between the single states.

Another central theme was the German education system in the logistic-sector. The participants of the delegation were especially interested to get to know the dual-studies system. It is planned to develop a similar system in Thailand.

Joerg Conrad, owner of the Anker Leschaco Group, explained his strategy of internationalization of education and training to meet the requirements of the global market. Trainees and graduates of the company enriched the program with their reviews in a panel discussion.

Prof. Dr. Josef Decker (Dean of Studies of the BVL Campus in Bremen) informed the guests from Thailand about the educational concept of the BVL Campus and the classification of dual studies in the general educational system in Germany. The idea is to bring young people – wanting to combine an academic education with the development of practical competence - together with international oriented companies, willing to offer an extraordinary chance to these students.

The Anker Leschaco Group will intensify the cooperation with the BVL-Campus and other logistic-educational institutions in the future.

The delegation also visited the F.I.T. Frankfurt Intermodal Terminal, the port of Hamburg and the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg.

The cooperation of the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce and Leschaco (Thailand) Ltd., subsidiary of the Anker Leschaco Group, brought the delegation in contact with Joerg Conrad.

„We are pleased that due to the international background of our company such a high potential exchange was possible. We hope in the future there will be more of such cooperation,” said Joerg Conrad.
