Our colleagues recently swapped their office gear for sports jerseys to represent Leschaco in a high energy event. Competing under the name LESHARKOs, the team participated in the 2nd HTS Hamburg Open, the largest dodgeball tournament of its kind in Germany.

Small Preparation, Big Heart

While most of the players had not played dodgeball since their school days, they responded to the call from Magnus Trauchessec with great enthusiasm. Despite only having time for one full team practice, the LESHARKOs dove straight into the action.

They discovered that dodgeball is much more tactical and fast than it looks!

The team finished in a respectable 11th place out of 15 teams, but the real victory was the laughter, the energy, and the strong bond formed on the court.

The 2nd HTS Hamburg Open clearly demonstrated what can happen when people come together, support one another, and stay active. With 15 teams and around 110 participants, it became the largest dodgeball tournament of its kind in Germany – and a truly special moment for us as hosts.

As the initiator of the Lesharkos’ participation and Chairman of Hanseatic Trouble Shooters e.V., I am proud of how our association has developed since its founding in 2016: into Hamburg’s largest sports-based self-help group for people struggling with addiction – entirely volunteer-run and funded through donations.

The Lesharkos represent exactly what defines our community: team spirit, commitment, and the belief that movement and connection can drive real change.
