Leschaco Mexicana in Bloom: Welcoming Spring with Action and Awareness

Leschaco CSR

On Wednesday, March 25th, the offices of Leschaco Mexicana moved outdoors. Equipped with shovels, gloves, and plenty of enthusiasm, our team joined the Climate Action community initiative to transform the median strip (camellón) at our facilities and revitalize our surroundings.

From Poinsettias to Spring Colors

The day began with a seasonal transition: our team worked to remove the winter poinsettias to make way for a new stage. Under the expert guidance of the groundskeeper, colleagues planted seasonal flowers specifically selected to thrive during the spring.

But the work didn’t stop there. To improve the overall aesthetics and safety of the area, we also got to work painting the sidewalk, achieving an immediate visual improvement that benefits everyone.

Health and Safety: Our Top Priority

To ensure a successful day, we had the support of our wellness experts. Our company doctor was on-site providing masks to all volunteers to protect us from dust and allergens during the soil work. Additionally, Carlos Gomez, our Safety Leader, supervised every step to ensure that all colleagues remained safe and secure while working on the public walkway.

Beyond the visual results which included removing poinsettias, planting seasonal flowers, and painting the sidewalk the activity sparked deep reflection:

"It’s in moments like these that we truly appreciate the work of those who do this every day; it is a labor that requires a great deal of effort and dedication." — Leschaco Volunteer.

Global Impact: Our Sustainability Goals

This activity did more than just beautify our space; it reflects our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

13 Climate Action.- Through urban greening, we help with carbon sequestration and combat the "heat island" effect in our local area.

12 Responsible Consumption and Production.- By performing careful, seasonal maintenance of our green areas, we promote the sustainable management of natural resources.

3 Good Health and Well-being.- Encouraging outdoor teamwork and improving the visual quality of our work environment directly impacts the well-being of all colleagues.

Special Thanks

We would like to extend a special thank you to Nancy Cervantes and Ivan Velázquez, leaders of the Climate Action community.

Their outstanding organization and leadership were the driving force behind this successful event.

Thank you to the entire Leschaco Mexicana team for showing that commitment to the environment starts with local action.
