Leschaco Mexicana Spreads Festive Cheer and Green Commitment with Seasonal Planting

Leschaco CSR

Today, Leschaco Mexicana employees participated in a special beautification effort, transforming the company's street median (known locally as a camellón) by planting the vibrant Cempasúchil flower (Mexican Marigold). This activity, which replaces the existing daisies (margaritas), is part of the company's commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship, aligning its actions with the cultural calendar and ecological balance.

The initiative involves swapping out non-seasonal plants for the iconic, richly colored Cempasúchil, a flower deeply rooted in Mexican tradition. Known as the "Flower of the Dead," it plays an essential role in the upcoming Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration. By choosing this native seasonal plant, Leschaco Mexicana embraces and showcases the richness of Mexican culture while promoting local biodiversity.

A Commitment to Sustainability and Collaboration

This green initiative reflects a proactive approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and is a testament to strong community collaboration.

Leschaco Mexicana extends special thanks to its Climate Action Community Champions, Iván and Nancy Cervantes, for their outstanding work in organizing this project.

The company also expresses its sincere gratitude to the local authorities of the Miguel Hidalgo Mayor’s Office, part of the Mexico City government, for their invaluable support. Professional gardeners from the Mayor’s Office provided essential guidance and tools to ensure that the transplanting and planting were carried out correctly and sustainably.

“Choosing a seasonal, native plant like the Cempasúchil for our outdoor spaces helps us connect with our local environment and culture,” "It's a small, visible action that underscores our ongoing commitment to the planet and our community, made possible through the dedication of our Champions and the support of the Miguel Hidalgo Mayor’s Office."

Giving Back: Margaritas Find New Homes

In a gesture of sustainability and employee appreciation, the daisies that were carefully transplanted from the median are being donated to Leschaco Mexicana staff. Colleagues are encouraged to take the plants home to replant and enjoy, giving the daisies a new life and extending the green impact of the project directly into the community.

This act promotes a culture of reuse and environmental responsibility among employees.

This activity is one of the many ways Leschaco Mexicana strives to integrate sustainability into its daily operations and foster a positive, engaged workplace.

Thank you Leschaco Mexicana
