Leschaco employees recently participated in the heartwarming "Hamburgada do Bem" (The Good Hamburger) social movement, dedicating their time and energy to support vulnerable children.
The initiative, which provides nutritious meals, recreational activities, and genuine human connection, perfectly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger, which seeks to end hunger, achieve food security, and improve nutrition.
Throughout the month of November, a team of eight Leschaco volunteers stepped up, transforming the day for dozens of children through dedicated service and affection.
A Day of Shared Purpose and Connection
The volunteer work involved various teams, including those focused on preparing the meals, organizing fun activities, and providing essential logistical support. For the participants, the event was described as a moment of genuine exchange, human connection, and shared purpose.
The impact on the volunteers was profound, as evidenced by their personal reflections:
“It was a remarkable and very educational experience. Being in contact with these children and making their day happy are feelings of gratitude I will carry with me until the next event.” Gabriel Miyata
“It was great. My first time at an event like this, and I felt a great energy that gave me a wonderful experience. I made several new friends and had a lot of fun. Besides the new experience in the kitchen, the children were very cute and super well-behaved. Very cool!” Henrique Leite
“Being in contact with children always revitalizes me, bringing many reflections and learnings. It reminded me that we need to listen to our inner child, which has the power to connect us with wonder, beauty, creativity, play, and experimentation. I will participate again.” Larissa Diniz
“The experience was incredible and unique! Feeling the joy of the children is priceless, and knowing that we were able to contribute somehow makes everything even more special! I am already looking forward to the next one.” Amanda Barreto
“A transformative experience. I left with a feeling of mission accomplished, because providing a happy day and full bellies for so many children is simply beautiful. Contributing my work was deeply gratifying and left me wanting to participate in future editions.” Viviana Luz
“It was an incredible experience. Besides teamwork, we also collaborated with a community of children and families, with recreation, painting, and health and wellness activities. It was truly gratifying to participate in this action!” Alessandra Meira
More Than Just Hamburgers
This initiative goes beyond the provision of food. By offering attention, listening, care, and presence, the volunteers delivered comprehensive support that addresses both physical and emotional well-being—a key component of achieving sustainable communities.
In return, the volunteers received smiles, hugs, and invaluable lessons.
Leschaco extends its gratitude to every participant who dedicated their time and effort to making the day special, reinforcing the company’s commitment to social responsibility and global goals like SDG 2: Zero Hunger.
