White January: Wellness in Chile & Brazil: Reflecting on mental health as part of our core values

Leschaco CSR

At Leschaco, we firmly believe that being "One Global Team" begins with the individual well-being of each employee.

That is why, during this start of the year, our teams in the Chile and Brazil Cluster joined the "White January" campaign, a vital initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of mental and emotional health.

Why White January? Leveraging the symbolism of the beginning of the year as a blank page and a new cycle, the movement invited us to take a strategic pause for self-knowledge.

The goal was clear: to reflect on how we are caring for our minds, managing our emotions, and improving our quality of life, while reducing stigmas and fostering open dialogue.

A Month of Learning and Care Through weekly emails and daily cards ("Breathing Minute"), the campaign guided us through four fundamental pillars to build a healthier routine:

  • Start with Lightness: We learned to prioritize without pressure and organize our minds to focus on what truly matters.

  • Micro Pauses, Big Effects: We discovered the power of conscious breathing (4-7-8 technique) and how just a few seconds of pausing can balance our nervous system.

  • Emotional Balance: We focused on recognizing signs of overload and replacing self-criticism with kind thoughts.

  • Small Actions, Great Well-being: We wrapped up by reinforcing sustainable mini-habits, such as staying hydrated and practicing gratitude before sleep.

Alignment with Our Values and Global Goals This initiative is not just a well-being campaign; it is a living example of our Leschaco Culture. By promoting safe spaces to discuss mental health, we are living our values of Openness and Trust, creating an environment where every person feels valued and understood. Furthermore, self-care is a demonstration of Responsibility toward ourselves and our teams.

Within our CSR strategy, under the "Our Family" pillar, "White January" contributes directly to the UN Sustainable Development Goals:

  • UN Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being): Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.

  • UN Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): A safe working environment free from psychosocial risks is key to sustainable and human-centric growth.

Caring for mental health is essential not only for personal well-being but also for nurturing positive relationships and maintaining a balanced work environment. Thank you to the teams in Chile and Brazil for starting the year by prioritizing what matters most: our people!
